Illinois Theatre Conservatory in partnership with Illinois Valley Community College is offering a variety of theatre courses for the community to enjoy. March 3rd - ITC's Continuing Education Class, "Let's Play! Theatre Games for Creativity, Spontaneity, & Confidence"
"Let's Play! Theatre Games for Creativity, Spontaneity, & Confidence" will meet from 6-9 PM on March 3rd at ITC's Grace Performing Arts Center. Instructor, Dave Roden, will guide participants through a series of fun and engaging group games to bring out the best in themselves and others with exercises that build trust and confidence, promote "group think", and encourage innovation which in turn can be applied to families, workplaces, and community organizations. "Plays You Should Know" will meet from 6-9 PM every Monday in March at ITC's Grace Performing Arts Center. Instructor, Grant Lynch, will guide participants through a fun tour of four Shakespearean classics focusing on specific speeches, character exchanges, and visual elements to help participants gain a quick understanding of some of the most celebrated lines in Shakespeare's works. "Theatre Games across the Curriculum" (for educators), will meet from 6-9 PM on March 10th at ITC's Grace Performing Arts Center. Instructor, Dave Roden, will present educators innovative strategies on how to reinforce classroom content, improve social and communication skills, boost reading skills, increase retention, and prompt creativity through a series of engaging group games. March 24th - ITC's Continuing Education Class, "Evolution of American Musical Theatre"
Illinois Theatre Conservatory's continuing education class "Evolution of American Musical Theatre" will meet from 6-9 PM on March 24th at ITC's Grace Performing Arts Center. Instructor, Dave Roden, will take participants from an entertainment event in 1866, when this unique art form began to move away from European standards, to what we know today as American Musical Theatre. Learn about what contributed to this child of "mixed heritage" and moved her toward a life that is vibrant with modern influences.
